#WintersRespite Read-a-thon Kick Off

Here we go, another read-a-thon! This is my official kick off post.

I love this one and from this gal as she has several read-a-thons throughout the year which, of course, is very nice. This read-a-thon, like others, also includes great prizes to be won.

The other nice thing is the title of the read-a-thon. It lends itself to cuddling up with good books even though the snow or weather outside might be frightful! It gives us time to enjoy them and in my case review them.

My plans this time are a bit two fold as Multicultural Book Day starts tomorrow. I will be reading and reviewing multicultural books all week. Stay tuned for all of that!

My list as of now:
  1. A Shelter In Our Car
  2. Grandfather Counts
  3. Baseball Saved Us
  4. Crazy Horse
  5. If You Were Me and Lived In Hungary
  6. If You Were Me and Lived In Scotland

Happy reading! ~Naila Moon

Read-a-thon updates. #WintersRespite

I totally blew the @boutofbooks read-a-thon. I mean I read books, sure I did. I even attended the Twitter party, which was totally fun. I met some new people including a gal all the way from Serbia...Russia...oh, dang...somewhere around there. Sorry! Anyway, cool beans!!
So, I started off great but then it went all down hill from there.

I don't know what happened but...ok, I do. I simply let everything else get in the way and did not take it seriously enough. Ah well...next time! Really, I promise!

As it turns out it is once again time for the Winter Respite read-a-thon. So, I guess next time is here?
Right on the heals and during the same week is Multicultural Day. I am so excited!
So, join me will you?

Happy Reading!

#FrightFall Start!

FrightFall Read-a-Thon
I mentioned to you that I would be doing the FrightFall Read-a-thon a few weeks ago. Guess what? It is here and started today! I am pretty excited to join in this reading challenge as it will get me a little out of my comfort zone.

I decided to purchase a mystery/thriller on Kindle to start this frightfully good read-a-thon but will be reviewing several children's books too as I go along. I am excited and a bit scared (HA) to get going.

If you would like to join me and several others just click on the photo to the right and it will take you right to the link to sign up.

Happy reading!

Fall Fright Read-a-thon #FrightFall

FrightFall Read-a-Thon
Even though it is not officially Fall yet, in my mind it is! I love this time of year and what makes it even more exciting is all of the things that go on at this time.

To add to my giddiness this year. I am participating in the FrightFall Read-a-thon which begins September 29th. Who doesn't like to read scary books once in awhile? Or a good mystery? Or a thriller? I do! This is the chance to get to do that.

Would you like to join me and the few other participants? You can sign up with the link above and win a prize or two as well.  Have fun!

High Summer Read-a-thon Wrap Up & a Check Off Of My List

High Summer Read-a-Thon
Well, the weeks read-a-thon  ended yesterday. I wish I could say I managed to get my TBR pile down to a minimum but alas, I did not. What I did do was get a couple of books down and reviewed. I read  approximately two others but have not reviewed them yet.

The biggest thing I did was accomplish my goal of reading 52 books before the end of the year. Should I have set my goal higher? Anyway, I did it and can cross that off of my list of goals for this year.
However, does that mean I am done? Heck, no!

I am looking forward to seeing how many books I actually finish with by years end. The 'High Summer Read-a-thon' helped me to reach that goal and this coming winter for the 'Winters Respite' will only help to surpass it. I may join the 'Fall Fright Read-a-thon" too.

Thanks to the sponsors who are giving out books and other prizes but most of all, thank you to our organizer, Michelle, who organizes these events.

Now, off to read some more!

#WintersRespite Read-a-thon Plans

As you should know by now I decided to join in on the read-a-thon this week. The main rule you ask? Read, read and read some more. Yes, there are prizes and yes, there is the twitter chats too but mainly...reading. Believe it or not, I received two books in the mail just today.

Since Michele of True Book Addict is the face behind the book...I mean read-a-thon, she asked us to try to read novels or novellas. However, quick to point out that kid's books were ok too. Again, in essence, no real rules involved but to read. This I can do!

As I said, I received books just today and even though I have a growing TBR stack, I decided to begin with one I received which just happens to be a novel of sorts. It will take me a couple of days to finish it and then I will move on to the children's books I have to complete.

This is my plan for the week. It is a good solid plan if I do say so myself. Wish me luck!

Winter Read-a-thon week #WintersRespite

A Winter's Respite Read-a-Thon
This week I will be participating in a Read-a-thon. I found this via another blogger who posted that she too was going to participate. This looks to be just what I need to get that to be read pile down to manageable. Of course is the pile ever really manageable. I think not! That is the joy of reading!

Anyway, I look forward to this seemingly laid back week. The only main rule I have seen is that you must read some novels or novellas during the week. You can read other books too including children's literature which for me, is a good thing.

If you want to join in, hit the link above and sign up. I believe there are to be prizes too. Stayed tuned for more this coming week.
