#Review & #Giveaway: Fancy Nancy Tea Parties for Fancy (Your Child's Name Here) by Jane O'Connor/ Illustrated by Robin Preiss Glassner #BookTour #PutMeInTheStory

Summary:
Fancy Nancy, hostess extraordinaire, can’t wait to share her party-planning expertise with your little one! From recipes and crafts to etiquette tips and French lessons, this precious personalized book contains everything your child needs to throw the perfect tea party. A personalized letter from Nancy herself to your fancy kiddo? Oui!

My review:
When I was a little girl, I loved having tea (kool-aid) parties. I would line up all of my dolls and serve the tea to each of them. As I had only brothers, this was my time by myself without them bugging me.

When I was with my grand-daughter, we sometime would dress up and have fun. A couple of times we had "tea" parties too. That is why I am so happy to have received this book.

This book features, Fancy Nancy from the Fancy Nancy book series by the same author, except this time, the book has my grand-daughter's name and photo throughout.

In six short, little chapters, full of colorful photos, my grand-daughter is sure to love! She gets to learn how to put on the perfect tea party and dress up fancy. She even gets to learn a little French, which was fun for me as I know very little.

What I really thought was wonderful about this book, as if there is more to be wonderful about, the end of the book includes 12 spaces to write her own recipes and a graduate certificate. The certificate can be cut our and hung up and since it has my grand-daughter's photo on it, it is sure to make her giggle.

I love these Put Me In The Story books and this one is no exception to that fact. Magnifique! This  lovely and fun book gets 5 stars.

Disclosure: I received a copy of this book in exchange for my open and honest opinion. The views here are 100% my own and may differ from yours.I am not responsible for prize shipment of the giveaway attached to this tour.

#Review & #Giveaway: Pete the Cat and (Your Child's Name Here) Magic Sunglasses by Kimberly and James Dean #PutMeInTheStory #MagicSunglasses Gift Bag

Summary:
Pete the Cat is having one of those days—the kind where nothing is going his way. But when Grumpy Toad lends Pete a pair of cool, blue, magic sunglasses, that gloomy, dreary day turns itself around!

As Pete the Cat travels through town, he meets friends that could use a little bit of magic. A hungry squirrel, a tipped-over turtle, and a lonely alligator all get a boost of positive vibes from the magic sunglasses. But what happens when those magic sunglasses break?

My review:
I have said it before and I will say it again, I love the "Put Me In the Story" books. I am so happy to get to review this one in particular because my grand-daughter is a huge "Pete the Cat" fan and for her to see her name is a win for sure.

In this book, Pete the Cat is not the only central character but so is my grand-daughter. She "gives" one of the characters in the book a pair of cool blue sunglasses. who in turn gives them to Pete the Cat. These sunglasses make every character in the book feel good and happy.  I smiled as  each character was happy.

Additionally, I could not help from smile at the line drawn Pete and friends. I have come to expect the author, James, to create such a cute cartoon-ish book series. The fact my granddaughter is in the book too with photo and name is just awesome!

I do not have a cool blue pair of sunglasses but thought mine were pretty cool anyway to share this wonderful book. Do you have a pair? If not, go get some and pick up this book too. It is sure to bring out your smile and the smile of your favorite kid too!

Don't Push the Button by Bill Cotter #PutMeInTheStory

Summary:
There's only one rule in Larry's book: don't push the button.
(Seriously, don't even think about it!)
Even if it does look kind of nice, you must never push the button. Who knows what would happen?
Okay, quick. No one is looking... push the button.
Uh, oh.

My review:
I have been absolutely enthralled with this book since I received it. My copy included personalization of names and photos. I decided to make this one for my grandson. His name and photos are throughout the book which made it completely fun to read. I was even able to leave a dedication.

The book itself is about a purple monster named Larry who is the keeper of the button. He tells you not to push it but then changes his mind. All sorts of things happen as the button continues to get pushed. Oh, boy!

This is a fun, interactive book that I know any kid would love to read over and over. It is great especially for an emerging reader.

The pictures are line draw with colored pencil. Although simple, they do add to the book and the overall appeal.

This is a 5 star winner!
