#Review:Good Night Sleep Tight What A Wonderful Flight by Louis Lintvelt/Illustrated by Do Thai Thanh

Summary:
After an exciting flight, it is time to say goodnight.
The tired sun sets overhead.
Sleepy aircraft get ready for bed.
They slow their propellers and park their wings.
Time to snuggle up and tuck in...Goodnight, Sleep Tight.

The charming illustrations and sweet rhyming text are sure to be a delight for sleepy aircraft enthusiasts.

My review:
This sweet little book tells the story of several different types of aircraft with cute little names that match. For example: Fire Plane Dave and Jane the Jet
Each one has a two page spread for what they do, then another two page spread of how the "sleep" at night.

The book is totally in rhyme of which the author excels at. The pictorial illustrations show each aircraft boldly with the surrounding as secondary. The pictures are in darker more muted colors to denote the idea that the aircraft are going to go to sleep after they work.

I read this book to my grandchildren. My grand-daughter delighted in the repetitive line,
"Hush...Goodnight...Sleep Tight." I winked at her every time this line came up and she would say the line with me and wink too.

We loved this book and it gets 4 stars from me and a wink from my grand-daughter pictured above.

Disclosure: I received a copy of this book for my open and honest opinion. The review expressed here is 100% my own and may differ from yours.

Review & Giveaway: How Andrew Got His Spots by Louise Lintvelt/ Illustrated bu Julie Sneeden

How Andrew Got His Spots by Louise Lintvelt

Summary: Poor Andrew is feeling very blue, all the other giraffes are very spotty but he is as white as can be. He does not have any spots, you see! He keeps seeing spots wherever he goes… One spot, two spots, three spots, Four! And many, many, many more. “Where did you get your spots?” he asks. Join Andrew as he discovers how the ladybug, the leopard and the owl came to have spots and discovers that spots often appear when you are least expecting them!

My review:
This is an adorable book about coming into your own and of acceptance of self.
The giraffe, Andrew sees himself as different as he has no spots and wants to be like other giraffes and spotted creatures. He goes on a mission to finds out how to get some spots too.

Isn't this what we all do at some point in our lives? We are not acceptant of who we are so we go seeking. Eventually, over time, we become the people we are supposed to be. This book shows children that if they are patient, they will too become who they are supposed to be.

If there is anything I would have to say negative about this book, it is that it seemed to end abruptly but this does not take away from the book as a whole.
I loved the nice and bold illustrations, they make you feel like you are out in the safari with the animals in their natural habitat.

5 stars!
