Review and Giveaway of "I Want To Do Yoga Too" by Carole P. Roman

I was so excited when I received I Want To Do Yoga Too by children's author Carole P. Roman. She continues to amaze me at the diversity of her writing.

About the book:

I Want To Do Yoga Too is about a little girl named Hallie who goes with her mother to the yoga studio.
There she is dropped off at the daycare and is frustrated because she wants to do yoga with her mom.

To make Hallie happy, the daycare teacher encourages her to pretend to be different things like a tall tree.
Unbeknownst to Hallie, she is doing yoga!

In the end, she is happy and wants to come back another day to do more.
----------------

I love that Carole P. Roman meshed pretend play with the moves of yoga. I also love that children can see that with a little patience and help from someone who cares, they too can learn the things they want to learn.

This children's book is an easy read and targeted for the very youngest of children.

Review of Just Ask The Universe by Michael Samuels

Just Ask the Universe
Facebook

I am sure you have heard of the books The Secret or The Power of Your Subconscious Mind. I am also sure you have heard at least something about the laws of attraction.

Well, now comes Just Ask The Universe!

Author, Michael Samuels takes a hands on, no fluff, approach to developing ones mind to gain anything you can dream and want. By following his steps closely and systematically he promises his approach to materializing ones dreams can be done even if you are young. He says, "This journey...requires you to create a blueprint for self-growth and self-improvement..."

He says all of this can be done because the Universe is open to us at all times and just waiting for us to ask. He explains in chapter two what the Universe is. For those concerned he also quickly points out that he sees the Universe not as God but different. He does not discount any belief but only respects.

I know I can always self-improve spiritually and of course in other aspects of my life there is always room for growth. All I have to do is ask?

Well, Michael Samuels says, yes but, you have to ask precisely. The entire book tells exactly step by step how to do just that.

He even gives examples from his own life and from the lives of other people whom he knows that follow this approach. In fact, he mentions that this book in itself is a manifestation of asking! How cool is that?

I can honestly say that I never have read the books that I first mentioned but Michael Samuels mentions them and more. In fact, he list all his mentors in the back of his book for anyone to read.

There is no doubt in my mind that I will be using this method daily. In fact, I will be reading his book again and following what the Universe has to offer. After all, who doesn't want to have everything they ever desired. I know I do!

Review of Anora by Tomas Trujillo

Anora, written by Tomas Trujillo
Not too long ago I received a copy of the book Anora by Tomas Trujillo. I was not sure what to expect from someone who says he is a "poet and dreamer". I suppose I thought the whole book would be in prose but boy, was I wrong!
----------------------
The book opens in the jungles of Vietnam with a character by the name of Johnny.
Johnny and some friends are taken captive and endure great suffering at the hands of their captors.
Johnny takes hard-core movements at the risk of being killed to free himself and his buddies.

After returning home, he is left with nightmares and with scars that may never heal. Johnny is awarded a Medal of Honor but can not find himself settled.

The story moves along at a fast pace finding Johnny broke, homeless and then on a unbelievable journey that lands him in the fields of Pennsylvania where he meets the beautiful Anora.
Anora sees past the wounds and in an incredible tale of love and courage gives hope and healing.
-------------------
What happens to Anora and Johnny? Do they stay together? Does Johnny ever recover from the nightmares?
To find out, you will have to read the book yourself.

I was so enamored by this book that I read it in 1 1/2 days. This is a book that I think everyone should read although it is definitely not for young children.

This book vocalizes endurance, hope, love, and forgiveness of ones self. This book transmits to all survivors of atrocities that it is possible to have the heart of grace in the face of great diversity.
Anora begs the reader to look beyond what one sees in front of them and go deeper within a persons soul to find out who they truly are.

If you want a book that  is compelling, takes you along with the journey,  has heart and soul, and that makes your emotions do flip flops, then this is the book for you!
I can honestly say that I feel I am a better person having read this book and that I know there is nothing that I can not overcome.

Thank you Tomas Trujillo for your beautiful words and story.
